Biography of Scott King

When Scott King takes the stage he controls it with undeniable wit and charm.  His unique and intelligent observations, from the eyes of a young man living in Chicago (who once worked at the Chicago Board of Trade), win over a variety of crowds young to old.  Whether he’s teaching men what not to say to women or discussing why dogs shouldn’t have Facebook profiles, the audience is sure to chuckle and maybe even learn a thing or two.

In September 2010, the Congress Theater, one of the largest entertainment venues in Chicago, hired Scott to be their Comedy booker and House MC.  King recently appeared on WGN TV as 1 of 4 finalists in the WGN and Zanies “Chicago’s Next Big Comic” Contest.

Scott’s stand up has been featured on Comedy Central as a two-time finalist for the “Open Mic Challenge” and he has worked at comedy venues throughout the Midwest such as the Improv (Chicago, IL), the Skyline Comedy Café (Appleton, WI), and the Cleveland Comedy Festival.  His comedy has also been featured in the magazine “Time Out Chicago.”  Scott is the host of the popular Comedy Podcast “Class Act Comedy” (http://www.classactcomedypod.com/), where he talks with different comedians each episode, such as Norm Macdonald.  He is also a graduate of Chicago’s Second City Training Center.  Currently, King can be seen in national television commercials for Comedy Central’s Jokes.com and Chicago’s Comcast Sportsnet.  He recently appeared on an episode of the popular Soap Opera the Bold and the Beautiful.  King also writes blogs on Comedy for the Tribune’s Chicago Now website (http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/class-act-comedy/) and Buzz Magazine (http://www.buzznews.net/).  For more information check out: http://www.scottking.tv
